enigma 2 and serviceapp plugin

what exactly does serviceapp plugin do

the IPTV provider install guide states I need to install serviceapp from plugin

Here is the nfo it comes with

ServiceApp enigma2 plugin:
- possibity to replace enigma2 playback system, so you can use these players not only from bouquet but for example from MoviePlayer, MediaPlayer(restart enigma2 necessary)
* switch players gstplayer/exteplayer3 at enigma2 runtime
* change gstplayer settings at enigma2 runtime
- change gstplayer(5001) settings at enigma2 runtime
* sink, buffer size, buffer duration, enable/disable subtitles

I see .. is there a settings I can go into to see what options are set

Its not something im familiar with mate. Should be a new menu somewherein under system services. Buffer size been the main setting of interest.

Yes it does have a new menu where you can change the player to stream or play local content - I think gstplayer/exteplayer3 include a wider list of video/audio codecs so its better supported for online content.

I installed it on my H7C as I was only able to play limited amount of content using the standard player via Kodi installed on H7C - to be honest I didn't see too much improvements but others have had better success.
