Hello I have a iptv multiroom sub so I can watch one channel while I record another
I use Xstream plugin as it’s what my sub supplier uses and has an epg that is fair for iptv that populates through xtream.
I have been pulling my hair out for weeks trying to work out why recordings fail even thought it was box related so purchased a more powerful mutant hd51 it’s running latest vix image and only used for iptv.
When I have a recording running all is good it records but when I change channels within the same bouquet say sky sports bouquet from arena to cricket for example it stops the recording.??? It states in list it’s still recording (red icon) but time recorded so far freezes and upon testing recordings only last up to freeze point..
I have repeated this all night testing..I set a recording from epg the normal way and touch nothing it records and carry’s on recording until timer ends but change channels and recording freezes/stops..so strange..I asked my supplier to check my connection to ensure it’s for two devices/multiroom as said all is good on server.
Does anyone have any ideas what may be causing this.?
Sorry I’m very new to iptv..
Many thanks.

First of all dont use the any plugins for IPTV they are no comparison to having the channels in you bouquets. us can use echannelizer to get epg for the channels. I didnt even know you could record with xstream.

if you still have your old box set it up and see can you watch a IPTV channel on both boxes at the same time. that way you will know for sure it isnt a provider issue. If you do have issues with this then it could be your internet speed.

have you tried recording 2 SD IPTV channels while watching a non IPTV channel such as BBC on freesat?

when you set the recording from the epg are you viewing that current channel? or on another IPTV channel?

Hi yes I have tested recording from Freesat bouquets via cross epg and have no issues.
Timer starts and records to end of timer all good.
I have no choice but use Xstream plugin it’s how supplier supplies it and has its own epg.
The recording issue is strange as I set recordings via epg through the night as a test and it recorded a movie no issues
I did other recordings say 120mins but it only recorded 70 mins done another at 65 mins and it records 43 mins..
I have tried setting timers from Freesat epg and changing channel to record from an iptv bouquet and still hit and miss it will record full timer on occasions and other times it won’t and stops short of timer time..
I feel it is the server but seller checked it and all is good apparently...
ALSO a recording is running and I stay on a channel it seems to record okay but if I change channel while recording the recording stops..it says in list it is still recording has red icon but the recorded time so far stops/freezes.
Internet is 70mb plus BT fibre.its strange for sure.

if it is hit and miss with recording at night like you say it is more than likely the stream is freezing.

unlike with CS when the picture comes back it doesn't carry on recording it just stops. I have noticed this myself(VIX5) when recording live events such as boxing over night. It can be fairly frustrating when u miss the last round, but it is rare this happens.

i would guess it is ur provider that's the problem if it is happening so regularly. as i suggested try with your older box to view a IPTV channel while viewing another on the mutant. that way if it works you will know your provider actually has support for multi room.

Also have you asked your provider recently do they provide a script. i have noticed many providers are now providing .m3u and bouquets list were recently they were only providing those crappy plugins.

Hi yes gave me a m3u as well.I used that for iPad using GSE app..
So can I uninstall Xstream and use the m3u to install channels.?
I know how to putty I just need the script to install the m3u then.?

you can use a .m3u converter to convert it to bouquets and then use echannelizer to configure the epg.
There is loads of guides and tutorials on youtube on how to do so.
No need for putty as I think echannelizer does it all for you.
no point in uninstalling Xstream until you test out having the channels in the bouquets.

It has been a while since i went through the process so i cant remember the in's and outs.

Hi thanks for the tutorial..im nearly there now
is there a way to highlight all the channels in a list you want to move as in video like you have filtered "sky" to a new made bouquet or do you need to do it one channel by one
thanks.

Update:
well I have managed it download my m3u file loaded into channelizer and off I went just learning by my mistakes but I got there in the end..boy took a fair few hours..
So the m3u file channels now on box plus I made a favourite bouquet of m3u channels and all is good they all work fine on box and yes they seem a lot better quality than the same channels through Xtream app..
Going to do a test record etc make sure all is good..
Thanks for the advice @alankellyeire @Ferret

Oh and without doubt the recording problem is definitely something to do with the server...
I think it’s something to do with when you change channel it uses two channels one your on and the one you are switching too as it’s maybe zapping to fast?? and if your recording one channel it’s possibly then using three channels..
Don’t know how you would go about closing one stream before you switch to another if there is a setting anywhere
That lengthens the switch time from one channel to the other.
I tried a few test servers and had no issues recording from them..timers worked perfectly.

hello, I think iptv recording stops because the server sees a double connection
