Hi,

I'm trying to develop a simple WPF pop up in C# (I think I have the terminology right?) and I was wondering if anyone would be willing to be my go to person for questions? I'm I.T savvy and can Google to get the basics its just handy to have someone to bounce questions off?

Thanks

I didn't know what WPF was until I asked one of the programmers here. Apparently it's a bit harder to use than the older visual tools as it it mainly XML but you can make richer interfaces with it.

Also - I may be confused. I'm creating a form which is a windows form app within Visual Studio Express I didn't think this was anything new?

WPF is newer than I've used :).

I'm en electronics engineer and I do write software now and again, but usually C for embedded systems. I have been making some forms recently but mainly for controlling test equpiment in VBA. I'll have a got if you have any questions and there is someone here I can ask, as he does the Windows programming for our product support tools. I usually pester him if I get stuck with Windows programming :).

I have used Visual C++ in the past but haven't had much opportunity to play with any visual programming for a while.

Thanks, Iv done some quite in depth VBA in the past (I find it completely different to C# and VB though). But I've always wanted to get into coding and writing API's I always start a project finish it then forget what I've learnt :)

My background is infrastructure but I diversify quite a lot :)...

Just looking at StreamWriters and combining strings - thanks for the offer

I've just been getting a quick WPF tutorial... Apparently it came out under a different name about the time of Vista.

The XML way of setting the form up isn't too intuitive but there are some visual editors like Expression Blend.
