Bought a lovely Amiko Alien 2 which i was very happy with until the recent changes to Transmissions shall we say...

How ever i thought all is not lost ill simply switch to IPTV how ever no matter what me or my provider do nothing works.

Apparently its very common on these boxes and no one seems to know how to fix it?

The channel list loads etc and Video on demand works find just not the live channels?

Just wondering if anyone has managed to get it to work on one of these boxes as would actually be great to get it to work at some point.

Thanks

Hi,

I see this post was put up in Sep, but I just came across an Alien 2 with the same as above. The fix I put is is after applying the IPTV plugin installation, I then had to perform a channel scan via satellite and sort the channels list.

Only then did the IPTV work. I cannot make sense of it, but it is working.

Now I'm looking to change the image because I dont think vix is very good.

Sorry Miller, I've been out all day. PM me no problem.

You simply need to tune to a DVB service once from boot up before the stream will play, doesn't matter what service or from where, just a working DVB service. You won't need to do this again if you only put the receiver in standby, you will if it's ever fully rebooted and/or powered off/on.

It's a driver thing that causes it, normally what a manufacturer would supply driver wise, in the case of these receivers/drivers though we don't have that privilege so have to work with what we've got... It's no big deal this one really though I don't suppose providing you are using it at least for a mixture of service types.

Makes sense. Thanks for the info Lavaman!

I'm now struggling to get a good image for it. Seems to be limited for some reason. Perhaps not very popular?!

Thanks Miller, I have vix installed but it is very glitchy. I am gonna play around with a few more till I get a stable image. Its not my box, I have a DM800 in the workshop and android in the main room. This Alien 2+ is for a mate.
