Hi guys,
I'll make it as simple as I can.
H2H with virmin line was all good at my house until I tried a variable antenuater on it, trying to cut out some pixelating, it didn't work so I took it off and restarted mgcamd and network, then it all started, all in darkness apart from the 1-4 channels.
Here's what I have done up to now:
Put numerous images on the box.
Changed splitter and cables.
Rebooted and also reset super hub 3.
Tried various lines in my box, no joy.
Been onto provider, all good at his end.
Tried my box at a mates house and it all clears, all good.
Tried mates box at my house and that works, all good.
Put my line and other lines in mates box, no good, stays dark, this tried at my house.
All that's left to try which I can't do until tomorrow is put mates line in my box at my house.
I know we could just swap boxes but that's not solving the irritating problem.
Any help at all, any ideas greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Roger.

Line seems to be the common factor does not work on your box or your house and not on your mates box either.

Try your mates line on your box at your house make sure his box is turned off.

Yeh going to try my mates line tomorrow in my box.
Like I have said though, my box and line work at my mates house.
Using mgcamd 1.38, I have tried 1.35 but that doesn't work either, also tried a new line on a c-line and cccam., no joy.
It does point to the line, but why does it all work at my mates? That's the annoying part of the puzzle. I thought about ip blocked or something similar.
Cheers.

Well if your mates line does not work i know virgin did some modem firmware updates on the hub it could be a firewall issue.

But what about his box and line working at mine? Box on ethernet, will look at the firewall issue though.
Cheers for replies.

Already thought of that ferret, but I really don't want this to beat me, I'm not one to give up. I'm thinking it could be router issue, something like the ip range or mac address, something along those lines, maybe someone with more I.T. knowledge will give me their 2p worth.

Quick update.
Mates line works in my box at my address, I'm going to ask my provider to send me a new line.
If not then maybe mate will swap lines with me or just get a line off his provider.
Dam my heads in bits.

Can it not be something to do with the port number?
I don't remember too much about C+N lines but seem to recall they have the port number assigned.

What happened to " but I really don't want this to beat me, I'm not one to give up" :)

Hi Chookey,
Not really giving up, I've had another line off my provider but still no joy either n-line or c-line.
Not sure about the port number being assigned, just tried it and still no joy.
Just waiting to here from another guy for a test.
Ahh mega head ache.

Just noticed that the lines I have tried at my house that DON'T work all have ddns.net addresses in the line.
The line that does work does not have it in.
Any ideas? Anyone?
Cheers.

Ok guys, we have light.
After resetting the virgin super hub 3 to scratch, it seems the firewall and a few other settings changed back to default, so I changed them back to how I wanted them ie no firewall etc. BUT still no joy after doing this and pressing "save".
It seems the trick then to "save" all what you have changed is to simply unplug and reboot the dam thing, this will then actually "save" settings properly, that seems to have done the trick and that's the only solution I can come up with.
So on that note, let's keep fingers crossed and note to ones self, stop messing with it.
Cheers.

why not try the openatv 6.1 image I uploaded last night, just add your magic line to the mgcamd or oscam config

Thanx jfish but all is good now.
I might give it a try if owt goes wrong again.
Cheers.

I'm having the same issue works here but not in my dads I'm going up tomorrow if you can give me a detailed guide on how you did it I'd very much appreciate it

All I can suggest is turn the firewall off and the other security settings in your super hub 3 and turn child safe off in your virgin media settings via the webpage. Then just reboot the super hub.
Roger.

Cheers mate I'll try that

I posted back in may a similar issues.

I just found out that they put out an update with child safe on it which was blocking certain ip or traffic. Phone them up and tell them the child safe is blocked some sites u use and can they take it off. Voila it worked.

3 people done the same and all working again.
