You need to look at the sim mate, you said you were sure it was sim 2 well it can not be if you flash a sim 2 image and get that error

Just dug out the emailed invoice - It came with bootloader #72

Would that help indicate what Sim it was? A quick search shows possible Sim 2.0 or Sim 2.o1

Is there any way of telling for certain?

Took the sim out - plain white with no markings :-(

Found a post on another forum (Sat Universe) where someone had Telnet state it was BL #75 but turned out to be actually a #72
The poster suggested these could be Sim 1 and if so possible to upgrade to Ferrari Sim.

Does this sound like a valid option and if so what images for cable would be open to me?

Told you way back to look at the sim

Sim 1 sim can be upgraded with that upgrade image after the upgrade which you run from the plugin menu you then can flash sim 2 images.

Upgraded via the Ferrari tool plugin last night and box is back to life now

Do I still need to load both images or can I go straight to the second one now?

PS sorted the network settings so 1 min instead of 90 min flashes.

Mate youve confused me with all this too.

Now you need to flash Ferrari sim images.

You could try this image

BlackHole-3.0.2-Final-DM800-Ferrari-ssl88F-2017011

You may need to flash the latest bootloader if it reports old version.

Apologies. Now I remember why I never changed my sat image for years.

Any pointers on an Ferrari image that will allow me to best utilise the dvb-c tuner. I could not see anything Ferrari related in the DM800HD cable section.

Hi Ferret,

Image loaded, autobouquets installed and CAM set up and running. Installed a USB with a 256mb swapfile to assist with the limited space on the box.

Everything perfect and worked flawlessly over the weekend.

The problem now is when the box needs to be rebooted it hangs on the loading GUI screen. I saw this a couple of times late last week and hoped that adding the USB would have helped but to no avail.

Tried several times today - even left the box off for 4 hours to let everything fully power down - still the same result - stuck at thye loading GUI screen.

Any ideas what I can try.

Remove usb and try boot if that dont work remove tuner and try boot the results will give us a clue.

Re flash time then mate.

You should of run a backup of the working image.

Already reflashed 3 times. The last time I mounted the USB Drive and created a 256mb swap file to try to fix the issue. Every time has resulted in the same issue on reboot.

Strange thing is it would reboot ok before I added anything to the image.
After checking this was ok I went ahead and added services, CAM etc and everything was perfect and stable - reboot and back to the same problem.

Image and box not compatable maybe?

Try another image first but i think the issue could be lack of space and youll need to use flash expander with a empty usb stick to correct that.

Flash image
Install and run flash expander to a clean usb may need to be mounted first but try before you do mount it.
Install plugins and cams.


See how it goes.

Will give that a go later. For info there was around 16mb (25%) showing free of the flash memory.

I tried i think it was a VTI image at the weekend. Loaded great. Rebooted fine. Loaded the flash expander etc but i could not find an autobouquets to load the services. Gave up and back to the BH image.

16mb free on a 800hd wow that must be the smallest image ever. Dose not need flash expander if that is the case. Id try another image. Go for OpenPLI

Any particular open PLI image you would recommend for my sim (upgraded Ferrari)? Ideally looking for something with an auto bouquets plugin.
