hi m8s i have a bit of a problem i have setup the power on function as pasword however i did'nt realise it was a wireless keyboard and mouse now i cannot start the pc can it be reset to button only :FRIGHT:

erm...this might be a bit farfetched, but have u tried plugging in a wired keyboard and mouse??? they not that rare lol, usually one under the bed gathering dust.

You could try removing the battery or attaching a new keyboard. If that fails then there's normally a jumper switch that you can set to reset the bios back to factory settings.

Try this. Its a cool piece of software that resets your Cmos back to its factory settings. I wouldn't leave home without it. You need to unzip it and put on to a disc to boot with, floppy or cd which ever your machine uses. Be careful cos I have been told that although it is a dos boot programme it can also work in any OS (not checked it out) so don't double click it as it may well reset your motherboard while you are working. When you unzip it any anti virus software will pick it up as a virus so take no action against it.

Hope this helps.

if that doesn't work.

open your case, look for a small watch like battery, remove it for about 30 mins, then put it back in, everything should be fine

I had the same problem with my compaq, the problem was that the password was stored in the eeprom not the cmos, so reseting the cmos or removing the battery didn't work, if this is the case with your laptop you might have to replace th eeprom with a default one for your make and model of laptop?
Thata if your really unlucky:CRYBABY:
