I'd be interested in integrating wireless networking in with my current LAN, just for the laptop really. I'll take a look around today for some reviews on Wireless Home Networking :)

Gazer m8,
I hadn't heard of (Intel anypoint) and so I looked it up. First of all. It isn't wireless and secondly it is a complete load of *hite, from what I can see. Stay well clear of it m8.

Regards
:) :)

sorry m8 but it is wireless and connects at 1.6Mbps

Connect your laptop and desktop PCs without wires or cables.

Surf the web sharing a single Internet connection with other home PCs. Share files, drives and printers, play multi-user games, listen to MP3 music stored on another PC - all at the same time, without wires.

Access resources on other PCs from up to 150 ft away, through walls and floors.

Broadband compatible. Great with high speed DSL, cable modem or other broadband Internet access. Works great with regular dial-up Internet access too.

Easy to install. No need to even open the PC. Just connect the USB Model to the PC's USB port. The software install wizard handles the rest of the set-up.

Provides everything you need to connect one PC to an AnyPoint Wireless Home Network.

Works with all AnyPoint Wireless Home Network Models. Buy one Wireless USB Model for each desktop PC and one Wireless PC Card or Wireless USB Model for each laptop.
Try here m8....... http://www.intel.com/anypoint/products/wireless/usb/ ....Gazer :)

Here is the link fooooor the intel wireless network
Intel's Wireless WLAN

1.6mbps is total pants use cat5 cabling it can handle upto a gig (100mbps recomended)the only problem is this involves laying cables round the house ....good point is no one can intercept rf emisions from it unlike the wireless networks

Sorry guys this thread is a bit out of date now..
I did what a wireless one at the time, but in the end I got myself a X4 10/100 network kit which you do have to run cables everywere, but it works well Cheers Gazer.

Gazer i was looking into the same thing but hold of m8 because the connection speed on the intel wireless network is crap. The standard connection on a network is 10/100 but with intel wireles is only 1.6mps. This sounds ok but if you try to play network games it will not run that fast as the trough put will be slow.

We have a wireless network at work but its a cisco wirless network and thats fast but it cost a lot of money.

This is where the intel wirless info can be found

http://www.intel.com/anypoint/index.htm

Hope this helps

Until they improve the speed on the intel i would sit tight m8
