Hi guys,

a m8 at work wants to replace his hard drive (the master drive with his OS on).

He doesn't want to have to do a clean reinstall of xp & drivers & programs etc.

Can he use Norton Ghost or DriveImage to copy from one disk to the other?

Cheers MH, :)
I'd already suggested that, but wanted to make sure I had given him the right info.
One has a reputation to uphold after all... lol ;)

Interestingly, it seems that Drive Image has succumbed to Norton anyway so they are one and the same now.

I prefer Drive Image myself. Easy enough with either as long as you read all the on-screen instructions VERY carefully.

@hatab
he's almost definitely running XP.
I assume that if he does a straight C: to D: copy then his XP activation will go t*ts up?
Unless he does the file swap and drive serial change?

yes m8,

just make sure he gets his from and to the right way around :) or it will be reload time.
