Hardware Pc problem/Quad Core/Running Windows 7

I was just watching sky go on my pc which is plugged into my lcd tv upstairs when all of a sudden up popped ablue screen displaying a message saying windows shut down to save files bla bla due to hardware problem try un plugging hardware etc etc , im thinking its a graphics card problem due to me having no display now when i try power on , ive plugged my other pc in using the same leads and it works fine ,

Any idea on how i could fix this please ? I have not installed any new hardware or programmes and was working fine until tonight

Strip down to bare essentials and boot. By strip down I mean unplug all drives, remove all but 1 stick of RAM, and, if there is on board graphics, take out the graphics card too.

Post back with what the outcome is.

Try plugging a standard VGA monitor into the PC first and see if you get an output. If you do then perfect opportunity to update the graphics drivers direct from graphics vendor. If you have no output then yes, graphics card more than likely your 1 avenue to look to replace.
