Hey Guys

I have been building pcs for over 20 years and i cant seem to solve this problem

I have built a tower system

Gigabyte 970a-ds3p board
2 x 4gb corsair ddr3 memory
AMD fx 8320 8 core cpu
Gigabyte GTX 960 4GB GDDR5 Dual-Link DVI HDMI DisplayPort PCI-E Graphics Card
Seagate 2tb hard drive

It has just taken 4 hours to instal windows 7
It is running at a major snails pace.
The hard drive led is constantly on

I have scanned the drive for errors and allseems to be ok.....no bad sectors
I have swapped the memmory with new and still the same

Any ideas guys.............Please help

Maybe reset the mobo jumper? Are the multipliers correct . I'm a bit out of the game tbh , are you trying to over clock?

Just a thought mate, I know things have changed since I last did a build. Does it run better in safe mode maybe? Can you trust the windows image you installed?

Well.......I have found an oldish 500gb hard drive.......put that in and its flying.

Even after scanning the original hard drive and finding no errors.....it seems it is either the size of the drive or the drive itself

Strange

Thank you guys

See if there is a diagnostic tool available for that drive, it might tell you how much error correction is happening or give you a general health status of the drive.

Partition the drive into 2 or 3 should speed it up run a full check disk on each drive for errors
