Hi all, I have been having an issue with my pc for a while now where it will reboot when ever I shut it down or just press the power button (which is set to shut down).
I have checked all sorts of settings both in the bios and on windows but nothing worked.
Out of curiosity I unplugged my wireless keyboard and pressed the power button, the pc then shut down as it should. I have checked the usb device and keyboard settings in the device manager and there is no tick on the allow device to power on computer option. does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

It shouldn't turn back on if you turned it off rather than sleep/standby.

Check BIOS again and see if there is anything in there that reads, "Wake on ....." and ensure that is set to no/disable or something along those lines.

There are no wake on lan or usb settings set to on in the bios or device manager. It only happens when the wireless keyboard is plugged.

I'm pretty sure I disabled that at some point but will double check. There aren't any logs to suggest crashes either that I could see through event viewer .

@little_pob restart on crash was disabled. I have uninstalled the drivers for the keyboard and the issue is still there. this is really weird

Sorted.

It turns out it was when any usb device was plugged in the pc restarted instead of rebooting. I am unsure why but it was because I was using a usb extension cable. It must have been pulling too much power as when I used one of those double usb plug to 1 usb socket (dongle power thingys) on the extension everything worked as it should.

Thanks for the help guys, glad I got that sorted it was pickling my head.
