doing that right now...do i need to change anything in bios ?...or do i simply chnage the boot order to my usb stick ?

ok created a usb bootable windows 8...but its still stuck on that "toshiba leading innovation screen".....? chnaged boot from usb in bios as well..

go into bios/advanced option/system configuration/boot mode and select UEFI BOOT also make sure the setting is the same on the rufus tool (second option down)

YEP. i checked allthose settings and i created the bootable usb again , doing what you suggested but its still stuck on that screen......

try putting boot to csm mode and selecting that setting in rufus?[/QUOTEi changed the setting in bios from UEFI BOOT to CSM BOOT and tried to boot from usb stick but still doesnt go past that screen...got a funny feeling some major fault....hope not, expensive laptop..!

What about hirens boot disk?

I would burn a copy to dvd and see if you can get anything running on it to test your hardware

only other thing i can suggest is tapping f12 on startup and selecting your boot media,

that way you wont get the toshiba startup screen...

it looks like its not reading the usb pen or hardrive at all.

it should have details about the drive's.

try disconnecting the hardrive/ssd use a diffrent usb port or usb pen

It does detect hard drive and my usb stick...see pic.well I've removed the hard drive cos I took it out my son's laptop, I just wanted to see if it finds it..it does but can't get to it...1441824791600-2133673659.jpg

now it detects the usb en i would change the boot option to mbr in the bios and make a bootable pen of an older image like windows 7.

if it doesn't work, you must have a hardware issue

make sure the secure boot option in the bios is disabled, then change the uefi boot to csm boot, should let you boot from the usb drive then i think

Focus

yes its disabled..but still same problem..
