Hi I just upgraded from vista to windows7 and I get a distorted sound from the speakers on sky go and listening to music on you tube. I changed the speakers but still the same was ok before the upgrade thanks in advance.

I have had a similar issue , if you do have the correct drivers make sure you are in the correct audio ports. I have a mother board which will allow you to set the outputs for the different ports. It sounds as though you may have the wrong outputs on your speakers ie left rear rather than left front as though it is set up for surround sound. If any of that makes sense?

I have 2x speakers and a woofer its only 1 wire in the back of the pc. When I watch sky go in a small window it not bad but when I go full screen its more noticeable. thanks.

Hi replaced the sound card works fine now thanks for all your help.
Reminds me of an old Creative X-Fi sound card that worked under XP and 32bit Windows 7, but crapped out all the time under 64bit versions of Win 7.

Despite evidence all over the web that 3rd party drivers, though unstable, fixed the problems; Creative denied it was a problem, issued cease and desist notices to sites that hosted the 3rd party drivers (as the drivers were based on their XP64 drivers) and discontinued support for those cards.

Whilst all reports are that the current range of Creative sound cards are some of the best on the market, comparable to the Asus Xonar cards, I'll never buy another Creative product.

That's interesting, I had never heard that tale although I do remember having that very issue with an old Creative Sound card a few years ago, I never did get it working properly if memory serves.
I fully agree with your reluctance to use there products in the future.

I wonder if it was a level issue (volume coming out of pc was too high). Did you try turning down the Windows mixer or the audio software mixer (realtek?)?

I can see you're sorted now but it's always interesting to find out what was done and what the outcome was.
