Hi I have a external HDD connected via USB to my computer on booting up this morning I noted that it appeared not to be connecting as I could not access it through the Drive connection list. I use a D-Link multi USB connected to the computer with my wireless keyboard and mouse and this external drive connected through that.

First thought the multi connector was not connecting but if so I could not use my wireless mouse and keyboard.

I re-booted but there was no difference. I then unplugged it and got the normal message "This device could perform faster through a high speed USB connector click here for available ports."

I just close this down as normal but the drive does not appear.

I looked into Device Manager and the drive appears there and reports working correctly.

Can anyone suggest what may have happened and how I can get access back to this drive as most of my folders are on the drive and are needed.

regards all help really appreciated.

Hi Found the problem somehow the drive letter was missing. Discovered this in disk management and added drive letter hey presto drive appeared in menu and all is accessible.
