Hardware ASUS Ultrabook UX31 intermittent issues

I've got an ASUS Ultrabook UX31 - nice laptop, not so great keyboard - but I have a recurring problem with the PC freezing and causing a windows crash. Seems to happen once or twice after waking it up but then it will work happily for several hours afterwards. ANyone seen anything similar? Anyone have any suggestions? I think it's a flash drive issue rather than software.

Crashes happened on Windows 7 and continue on Windows 8 & 8.1

Id be looking at the power management setup M8, as if your experiencing the same issue over three different SWs this is where id put my money.

Additionally test if the same occurs when psu/battery powering ?.

try re installing the OS, sounds like a corrupted driver to me.
