having a nightmare with my pc and not sure which way to go next.

i am getting no piocture on moniter.
I changed out the power supply unit because it was old and seemed suspect, so in know that's good now.

here is a picture of what i get onscreen
flashes up for maybe 5/10 seconds, then a blank screen...

i am torn between replacing the graphic card or motherboard or the whole tbh.

unfortunatly i don't have anything to test individual parts on, so looking for opinions as to what is most likely causing my stress...

has motherboard got onboard graphics

if so remove graphics card see what happens

could be a driver issue for card etc

Do you get a POST beep? (Just noticed I don't with my new PC, I don't even think there is a speaker...)

Is there any onboard graphics to try?

I'll guess graphics card first.

no, i dont get a bios beep, dont think the board has a speaker at all.

also using a fookin ssd which is silent, so i dont know if anything is happening at all lol

i did notice the little hardrive light flickers like it doing summit though?

Do you have a CD drive @buzzer?

Just wondering if there is a way to eject it using keyboard shortcuts when (if) Windows has booted. You'd know it was semi-working then :).

Or what about the Windoze sounds when it loads, speakers?

Does it appear on a network or do network shares become visible?

What OS you running?

mm, no sounds or network connections, also doesnt try to read a disk when i power up with disk in...
but then again i did pull out the bios battery for a few minutes lol.
so could be sitting at the battery failed screen...

running windows 8.

i will need to mess around with it when the kids go to bed...

just a thought

double check you have connected all connections after replacing psu make sure securely fitted

A few things to try first. Keep pressing <ESC> as it boots to see if you can get into BIOS setup. If that doesn't work, try <DEL>. You could also try F8 - one should get you a text screen. If none of these work could you borrow a monitor from a M8 so you could narrow it down to either monitor or system?

What make and model is it? Or what's the motherboard?

right i took out the graphic card. (been switching between two to see if one will work).

rattled the function keyts a bit
now the ppc is booting and i can see it on my network :)

what do i do necxt lol

Still nowt on the monitor? It's clearly booting okay, unlikely two graphics cards are shagged. Looks like a monitor fault - could be the cable if it's removable, otherwise grab a mate's monitor to test.

defo not monitor or cable..

i got two montors , ruled out monitor or cable.

i have two graphics cards.

one i was using when it broke was a nvidia geforce 7300, i can now get the pc to boot with this in, but no picture

the other card is a radeon 6870 , i wasnt using this because its a bit big, i planned to get a better casae and psu for it. (bit never got round to it).

interestingly i cannot get the pc to boot with this card in at all...

so possibly the card i was uising went tits up andf the one i had in storage got damaged somehow?

the 6870 might need more power to get it going
what wattage is the psu and what other devices are in the machine
i still think its a frecked card mate
