Hi Guys, Ive bought my daughter a new computer, and in her young wisdom she decided to change her password and guess what she has forgotten what she has changed it too. I have spent the last few hours trying to delete it using hirens 15.2 but with not luck. Is there anyway of removing this? Please help

Have a look here might help

think full instructions are here

Thanks for the help, after following the instruction letter by letter, it worked for changing the Guest password but not the user. But at least Ive managed to create a recovery disc from another computer. I am now trying to totally reset the computer. Hope this works, but thanks for trying.

I have used hirens cd before to achieve this. Hirens incorporates both wingate and thew offline nt password tool. The easiest way is through wingate as it allows you to logon with any password and change the password through the administration tools area natively. However, I have not tried this on windows 8 as yet but it definately works on all nt win2000, Xp, and win7. Just have to rememebr to remove it once finished. Secondly is the nt offline edit, which also works very well. However, you need to be very careful and if it is proper efi boot there is a chance that it will not work. Let us know how you go...I am sure we will be able to fix it. I know of a tool which can also "read" the passwords so this might be another option.

Cheers

I used Hirens first (15.2) and tried all the password tools but they all failed. Looks like Hirens will have to do some catching up with windows 8 (which i am sure they will in due time). I eventually created a boot disc from another laptop that had windows 8 on it and used this to set the computer back to factory settings and delete all the information off the computer. It may teach her to be a little more careful next time. Thanks for all the help guys.
