Hi,

I have a toshiba c660-2kf with a bios password, I have tried shorting jcoms jumper under the ram and disconnecting the bios battery but can't clear the password, bought the laptop in a job so toshiba won't help me...

If anyone knows of a way to clear the password I'll be eternally grateful..

Cheers

Ste

Bios battery has been out for weeks... No back door passwords for this bios just wondering wether replacing the bios chip is my only option :-/

Thanks

The newer laptops are much more secure than having a standard bios backdoor passwords or shorting any jumpers mate.

I cant see from google but can you tell me the make of the bios? toshibas own? AMI? Phoenix? etc etc? if you can, can you post an image? maybe take one from your phone?

EDIT: Just done a search on the toshiba website and it seems they use phoenix or insyde.

Can you tell me what happens when you enter the wrong bios password 3 times? on some you need to enter it 8 times.

Hi Dentist, did you get to the bottom of this issue, as I have a similar problem with a c660-2e1 ?
