hi guys... my download speed 165Kbps upload speed 25Kbps...i have 10 meg internet....whats going on...rebooted modem and router but still getting the same, pages take ages to load...any ideas ?..ta

dont download much...modem online light is blinking like mad, even after reset of modem and router...its the same when im on my laptop or even when im hard wired to my desktop pc...must be an issue on VM side...tru..not much i can do about be oversubscribed to my ubr..lol

do you have a wifi password on you router.

check the router status page to make sure data through put is good and only your pc is using it.

not much you can do, only is to phone up VM and complain and you may get some discount.

If alot of people within the same UBR complain about the speed, VM can resegment the UBR ie adding more UBR's etc. But hell will freeze over first before they do this, if a miracle does happen and they do decide to resegment your uBR then this can take up to 18 months to complete

to check which UBR your on http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/misc.php?do=connection then call up VM and tell them the UBR is oversuscribed and take no shit from them.

use this for a speed test http://homepage.ntlworld.com/paul.marsden/newspeedtest.html?1320839167 - I find it more accurate than speedtest.net

as sad as I am, anyone wondered what a UBR looks like , here is an example

First thing i'd check is to make sure nothing else is connected and using the bandwidth

seemed to have sorted itself out..today, left everything unplugged for the whole day, came back from work and hooked everything up and working fine now...must aave been vm issue...cheers guys..
