pc wouldn't boot up

Sorry to seem picky but what do you mean by 'dish' pal?

probably means a cursor, like a dinner plate or something

my guess is something is corrupted on your Operating system

if your on XP try doing this:


XP over the top install - Virtual Dr Forums-Computer Tech Support

will replace any corrupted or missing files your operating system might have

a curser in the left hand corner ( _ )

yes thats wat i ment and thanks i'll try that cheers

you can always try pressing F8 on start up and go into safe mode as it will just initiate basic drivers etc... and check the error log for problems ... also try install windows up until the point it loads device drivers etc... and stop the cd/dvd usually fixes it, or my old fave ... install windows over new old windows, will get names windows.old... and once installed, just go to your C: drive look for windows old and drag all your files over, (pics, videos, programs etc) and once done delete the windows old folder... hope this helps
