CDR Probs

I have a philips cdrw in the kids pc, but for some strange reason when i now put in any type of disc all i get is a clicking noice then if i try to explore it is as if the disc is blank, anyone ideas what maybe wrong ???

i tried cleaning it, it slides freely enough, can't remember off hand how old around 2-3 years

Most likely a dirty lense, try to get your fingers on one of those CD Cleaner CDs and see if that helps.

ive got same prob with my cd-rom,put a disk in and it just clicks,tried cd cleaner but no go.....
