now i cant get any sounds from pc at all

i posted a thread re comp crashing and tks to replies im up and running again unfortunately lost the sound for no apparent reason.My son said it was working when he fixed the crash for me(following yr instructions). Whe i went on to play my music mp3 saved on comp no joy.No comp sounds either help pse

You could try reinstalling your drivers for your sound card, but it could be the case that your card has physically failed which would account for the crash in the first place, and the fact that you have no sound now.

Check device manager for any errors (yellow exclamation marks): Start > Run > devmgmt.msc. Expand 'Sound, video and game controllers' and find your sound card (the most common are realtek, c-media and creative)

Also make sure the feed to the speakers is in the green socket and any power lead hasn't come loose.

POB is usually right lol also take your card out uninstall the driver for it also (devicer manager) then reboot your computer you may have an onboard sound what motherboard you got? you might not need your soundcard are if you had onboard sound in the first place you might need a sound card?
 
tks mates for the quick replies will look at them in detail tomorrow im a bit off it today just looked in to check email and replies from forum.tks again much appreciated.
 
tks for all your help sound back on. Apparently i had installed some prog which had interfered with the sound prog on my comp. i deleted the prog as was advised and hey presto sound back tks again
