I'm putting a system together for someone but have been having some probs.

I bought an MSI board with o/b graphics by Nvidia. I also bought a pcie gfx card also by nvidia.

Everything is fine except when I load the drivers for the SM Bus. I get an IRQ less than or Equal error message.

If I install the SM drivers then it is fine, but when I load the graphics card drivers that's when the error appears. I've tried installing the graphics drivers first but the SM drivers cause the same fault. The PC seems to work fine without the SM drivers, but this is annoying.

Anyone know how to get around this.
BTW o/b graphics have been disabled.
What is the SM Bus?

Cheers

did you install the Nvidia firewall ? if so try and del that as that f*** up my pc could not do anything with just came up with error after error untill i del the Nvidia firewall

Yes I once installed the Nvidia Firewall and promptly removed it becuase it does cause mayhem!

The IRQ message is a catch all error message and suspect it is a hardware conflict wich could be down to your gfx or something else. So do as suggested by crashuk2k1 but also check without the gfx 1st to see if you get the same message.

Thanks for the replies guys

I tried running the o/b gfx on a fresh installation of windows. Still crashes when I install SM bus without the external card installed. I'm sure there is a workaround for this but TBH it works just as well without it.

When installed the MB drivers the only one I chose to install was the LAN driver and it works just fine

Thanks again
