Maybe Micky could make this a sticky?

The link below is mainly aimed at Advent users as their drivers are hard to get hold of but they do cover other companies also, so if your after a driver take a look.

I lost my driver CD for my Advent laptop and as Advent themselves are not a manufacturer of PC's it is almost impossible to get any support or drivers. I searched high and low on the net, even forums that are talking about them can't seem to get any.

Anyway I have managed to find this lot on the TechGuys website, took me an age to get here and seems a little discreet, they have drivers for every Advent PC and laptop made plus loads of drivers for other companies such as Sony, HP, Samsung, eMachines, Fujitsu, Medion, etc. They also have drivers for many other devices.

If anyone is stuck for a driver try here and click on the 'Product Guides' link at the top and choose your system or product you want drivers for:
Drivers And Guides Here

Also could anyone please add their driver sites to this page, the more the better, hopefully we will never be stuck for drivers again.

Glad you got it sorted digicol, although I have used their site before I found it limited and their email support is rubbish. I tend to use the site below, sometimes it redirects you to the techguys for drivers but usually to the manufactor of the mobo.

Thanks mate, the kid had no laptop for the last week or so.

I knew about TechGuys but I just thought the website was to advertise they were there and you had to pay for support, they do not make it easy to find drivers and stuff.

I also found the website you link to but my laptop 7301 was not covered.

Now you got it sorted, make yourself a nice .exe drivers file with the likes of Driver Genius, that way it wont matter if it needs formated etc n the future.

Yeah will do mate, was also thinking about slip streaming it all into the student edition of Windows XP pro.

Never done it before but my mate over the road does that sort of thing all the time, looks like a piece of cake and I was introduced to PC's back in the DOS days so know all about batch files and stuff.

It's just being arsed to do it, I have a habit of just browsing instead of doing anything constructive.

Thanks

"yay"
Thanks m8 bookmarked :)

You should also check out driverpacks.com as they have a method for adding thousands of drivers to the original install media.

Yeah I know, but I think that's overkill personally, and only add the drivers I need...

Good advice all the same.

Hi
here are some driver download sites I have used in the past
plr
http://www.mainboard.cz/driver/
http://members.driverguide.com/index.php
http://www.intel.com/support/index.htm?iid=CorporateV3+Header_2_Support_Head
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/support_downloads/downloads/

http://www.usa.canon.com/sys/images/spacer.gif
http://www.yournewdriver.com/USB_Storage_Adapter_7556.htm

www.driverpacks.com is a search site can't find any drivers on there either

My bad, its actually driverpacks.net I think.

You will need the latest download if you are slipstream a XP SP3 distribution.

There is a also a way of creating a standalone CD that you can run on any XP system to install missing drivers. It scans for unkown devices and installs the relevant drivers.

Does anyone know where to get acer xp drivers for my 5920, It came with vista, I have found some xp drivers but not many?
