Depending on the HDD manufacturer, go to their website and download their HDD S.M.A.R.T checking utility.

Use the utility to check whether your HDD is ok.

If not than the HDD is operating outside its limits, would be better if you replace it sooner than later.

The S.M.A.R.T (Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology) is a monitoring system for HDD to detect and report on various indicators of reliability, in the hope of anticipating failures.

It like a future HDD failure predecting utility. So it would be advisable to replace your HDD as soon as possible.

Just checked the Seagate website and downloaded something called Seatools
