Hi All,

I am trying to get IPTV working on this box which is preloaded with VIX3.808 Clone Safe.

I have used a programme called esettings+ to write an IPTV m3u file to the solo and all the channels now appear in the bouquet as expected however no content is present in the feed.

Am I missing something very basic here ?

I must admit to being a complete novice with respect to IPTV.

Any advice on what is possible and how to get this working would be appreciated. The box is a V2 box.

You should try updating your image to a newer clone safe one. 3.808 is really old now and maybe thats why you're having problems using IPTV.

Check here for new images:

Many thanks, But mine is still a V2 - I have noted from many forums that an attempt to apply the V4 update may well result in a brick hence stuck on 3.808 unless there is more info that I have missed ?

I see the index contains Openvix 5 - really for V2 ?

Click on the link it has images for Dragonworth clones and Lonrisun clones with old V2 protection. I've used them on my v2 box and they are safe.

Thank you, I'll test 5.0.009 out in a moment.

Do you mind me asking if there is a tut or post about the best way to install and use IPTV on a solo2 or will it be a plugin n the menu's like on later images ?

I dont know whether the m3u technique I used it a good one or not.

Basically I used iDreamX on my Mac and imported the channels file from my IPTV provider. Once it's loaded in iDreamX, you can then split them into your own user bouquets. If you want the EPG/PICON to show then you need to edit the service id for each channel to match the one used on satellite by sky. There are apps to do that like E-Channelizer, but i just used iDreamX to edit everything. It takes ages to do them all so I just made a favourites list and gave an EPG to those channels.

OK have just run it and after restart box said FPGA Update finished and went in to HW Error.

I guess I've either got a Lori but there is no micro USB on the back and the serial connector is vertical or something else is wrong >?

Maybe it's a version 1 box? Mine is a Dragonworth clone not Lonrison, maybe thats the difference in it not working for you.

Perhaps, I'll whip the cover off and see if I can take a pic.
Not sure how to tell V1 from V2 tbh

I don't think you can tell the version number from looking at the circuitboard, that will just tell you the creator.

OK the only thing I have found is that a V2 should have a V2 sticker on the back which this doesnt.

Its not a Sunray for sure.

I guess that unless I find a V1 to V2 update, I'm limited to 3.808 then ?

Thanks again - great help.

It looks like it, unless you take the risk and upgrade the protection. That's a big risk I broke one box trying to upgrade myself! Maybe try a VIX 4.2 image first and see if you can get it working.

Well 4.2 gives HW Error too so I guess its V1 - V2 Update or live with what I have then.

Shame.....

Personally I'd just leave it at 3.808, it's better than nothing. Maybe just look at how you're adding the IPTV channels, maybe it's not the image and you just did something wrong.

Yep I guess I'll drop 3.808 back on for now.

I was thinking of going DVB-C anyway but IPTV may have just bridged that gap for now.

As for the method I am using - pretty sure its right.

Q - does one need a service provider to receive IPTV ? If so I dont have one so that might be my answer.

What do you mean by service provider? Where are you getting your IPTV list from? I pay for my IPTV and the owner lets me download a file that contains the links to the channels they provide.

Thanks again ! That might be my issue then. I dont have a service provider for IPTV as yet.

Thinking out loud - What about Kodi ? Would that be a way forward ?

there are free lists around, and you do not need a provider for those.

But as I said earlier not all lists work in enigma2 or kodi

Have a look at Free m3u List it has been discussed there
