What is Now TV?
Now TV is Sky's subscription IPTV service. It is separate from the Sky Go service, and is in direct competition with Netflix, Amazon Prime Instant Video and blinkbox.

Sky?! So I'll need a Sky TV subscription?
Actually, no. Now TV is available to anyone in the UK, including those without any Sky services.

What does it cost?

£8.99 per month for the Movies pass.
£4.99 per month for the Entertainment pass ("introductory price").
£9.99 a day for the Sport pass.
99p - £3.49 for Sky Store PPV rentals.

How often is content added?
Currently 4-5 films are added to the Movies pass every Friday. These are usually the same films added to Sky Premiere.
The Entertainment pass mirrors the content of certain channels as they broadcast, and offers some of Sky's catch up content. New content is added daily as contracts are signed.
The Sport pass is a simulcast of Sky's 6 sports channels.

Any special offers?
Movies pass can be trialled 30 days for free.
Entertainment pass, Sport pass, and Sky Store Rental - none that I've found (too new?).

How do I watch?
Through your browser at NowTV.com. There are apps for Android and iOS devices, as well as Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles. YouView settop boxes and Roku's LT and XS media devices are also supported. In addition, Sky have released the Now TV box (based on the Roku LT) for £9.99.

What are the alternatives/comparables?
Netflix
LoveFilm Instant
iTunes Season Pass
blinkbox

Anything else?
The Sports pass lasts 24 hours, but can be purchased in advance (voucher is valid for 365 days). Please note, because the Sports pass and Entertainment pass are simulcast, legally you need a TV Licence to watch.

When you rent content from the Sky Store service, you have 30 days in which to start watching. However, once you begin watching you only have 48 hours to finish.

Worth keeping an eye on HUKD if you're thinking of subscribing. Deal this week was 'Groupon offers a six-month NOW TV subscription with one Sky Sports Day Pass for £14.99' (Deal still has a day left now!!)

I took a similar deal a couple of months ago, same price through Groupon but included 5 Sky Sports Day Passes.

Sky Sports Day Passes are also usually available on that auction site for less than a tenner.

Also worth noting that Now TV seem to be in the habit of emailing special offers when your original subscription runs out so maybe not the best idea to be in a hurry to renew.

HH.

Sky have opted not to add TV shows to the Movies pass. Instead they've added an Entertainment pass for £4.99p/m. This seems to be the reason behind reducing the Movies pass from £15 to £8.99p/m.
