Hi Guys

I currently have Virgin broadband line that it otside on my house wall, it USED to split and go 1m length to my old NTL box and 6m upstairs to my Superhub.

Just had a splitter, plugged in, net bak on, BUT nothing showing on ZG ?

Only a 1m run, checked F-plugs, tuners are 1000% set correct ?

Nothing ?

So i then just ditched splitter and put feed direct to box and still nothing ?

It can only be a dodgy cable or tuner ??..

Anyone had this ?

Cheers

Thinking of just plugging it into a mates virgin line to test.

doesnt the line have to be active to be able to recieve anything on it?

Im not certain on this but i rmemeber seeing it mentioned that it was a prerequisite that you had a virqin sub either broadband or tv for CS to work with virqin

I Have Virin internet only. Like the 'good old days.....lol

Gone back in time 10 years

i dont know so.

from what i read when i was looking into virin CS, it was mentioned that it didnt matter what sub you had either TV or broadband to CS. After hearing that i didnt boder looking into the matter anymore

99% all i need is a live broadband speed mate...

Take out the modem and plug it directly into the box no splitter and run ABM.

See what happens

Done that, just came across this -

Tuner B the virgin tuner has an rf in, if you have screwed a f connector on the box you are connected to tuner A which is a sky tuner, and why you don't have a signal.

Are you seriously saying i should be using the co-ax input !!!!

Lol yeah rf in is the cable tv input.

Oh FFS !!!! Sure the OLD NTL box's used to use them, that's why it's still inplace !!!

So just snip end off and put into a co-az end.

Just found one, STILL the same ? Tried all of above again ???

Does that same coax run the modem. Forget about signal unless you have the correct freqauency and qam youll not get one.

I know you say tuners are set up correctly but you dont say how or how your running a scan

Had coax running DIRECT from outside wall....So unplugged feed from modem and run directly to box, both tuners have my area ID.

Scanning using autobouquet search, also have it set for my are in config in there as well...Shows as my town with the same ID

Must be missing something simple...

Selected Virgin in ABM ?

Also try a brute force scan in service searching.

Yea, selected Virgin and my area code, all looks correct ?

ONLY think i did notice is that i did see 4 different Virgin options (on another menu)

I had these (not even ure how i got to them, was from a youtube video)

I have 4 Provider to scan ?

Virgin Media Uk (ex CW)
Virgin Media Uk (Pure)
Virgin Media Uk (Telewest)
Virgin Media Uk (Bruteforce)

I am on PURE ?

EDIT -it's in RECEPTION SETTINGS...i also dded my Net Id in there as well.

Id give the bruteforce a go.

Can you post a picture of the rear of receiver showing signal wires.

Also screenshot of the tuner configuration for every tuner.

Is the 5v switch off?

If you disconnect router, bring it downstairs and use exact same wires as you were with the receiver, does the router connect?

Info:
There used to be one long entry in the cables.xml file. Some frequencies were duplicated. There is also slight variation in the frequencies between the pure, ex-cw and tw areas. Someone separated them to make scanning more efficient. If you are not sure of system, select brute force.
