Hello guys

I have been playing around with various builds on the h5 and having lots of fun playing with them. I have found that they can be a bit glitchy when updating but are solid really.

What at build have others settled on and why??

Used to be a big fan of openVIX.
But jumped ship to openATV with ipab image.
Openvix is not supported on zgemma platform but can be flashed but plugins will not work.

Ipab runs openATV and plugins will work without issue.
Also ipab update the IP*V player and bouquets. iPab have removed all dead channels from the bouquets so no need to browse through channels that won't work on sat tuner.

Just remember if you use ipab image and your running a flawless script to select IP*V bouquets in ABM or you will wake up and they will be missing from your bouquets.

Thanks for that river4ever. Have you used Wooshbuild and do you hve any thoughts on it?

Wooshbuild once booted after the elaborate install method is a little basic ive never understood the fuss.

I Installed wooshbuild and after 10mins got rid of it. It seems to be directed towards users that don't want to experiment with there Zgemma box and it also was very restricted as regard to plugins.

some people just want a simple barebuild image, simply just want to watch tv ..whilst others prefer lots of plugins so they can experiment with their box...i know its not evryones cup of tea..lol persoally i prefer a simple build of an image, considering that im not gonna use most of the plugins or features...

Cheers Chaps.

I will stick with Ipab at the moment and have a good play with it.

Thanks for your feedback it is appreciated.

I uploaded a bare bones image for said box, was solid for me, I sold the box to a member here, he will confirm how stable the image is

The image was ATV6 with OSam as softcam and CrossEPG

Wooshbuild is not as good as ipab,Just to much potch going through all the base build,Ipab is a 2 minute flash and choose Hdmi and screen size and all done

Personally I just stick to a clean untouched OpenATV 6, and just install the extras I need. I've been a fan of builds they contain un-neccesary bloat I don't need. I prefer keeping my images lean and free of un needed extras that have an impact on performance.
Also more likely to see ongoing support in terms of updates etc from clean original images, you don't have to rely on build creators for updates.

Just to add to the ATV side of things. I found driver issues for USB drives on 6, think they have been patched in 6.1
