Best Android Box under £50.

I would like to have a little dabble with the Android boxes and looking to see what is the best box I could get for my money. Looking at ebay and Amazon there is vast array of TV boxes available so finding it really hard to decide which one to buy I am fine with the technical stuff as I have messed around with the dreamboxes and VU+ boxes in the past. Found one on Amazon which seemed to have good reviews. Any suggestions welcome. Thank you.

I personally think u need at least 2 gb of ram on these boxes to run smoothly,i had a mxq box then upgraded to the t95 which i found runs a lot smoother with the extra gb

Looking to get one my self and have not got a CLUE when it comes to them or android gear !!!

Don't know where to start !!!!

I also have films in various formats on my laptop that i would like to play ( i have just been using a Cyclone MIcro 2+ and just sticking them on a USB)

I think the only difference is one is android 5.1 the other is 6, which is what I got and it updated to 6.0.1 as soon as plugged in. So as long as it's got UK plug and choose the EU warehouse it should be ok.
I only watch films using showbox and kodi etc. But I'm sure there's an app add on to allow you to watch your movies off the laptop

So android 6.0.1 is the firmware, i thought they all had stupid names like fookin icecram, jellybean etc...lol

You can tell i'm an iphone user.

Can u link me the extact one you have, does it works ok wireless or will i need ethernet ?

Seen LOADS on Ebay with prebuild BUT all 1 Gb ram.

I'll have a look for link. Android 6 is called marshmallow and that's the latest. I have mine hardwired due to reading WiFi on these boxes can be hit and miss. Mines got 2gb and came with kodi installed but no build so installed my own choice.

Here's the link for the 1 I got but only from China atm mine was shipped from their EU warehouse and took a week to arrive.

Cheers, i only have one ethernet lead and that's plugged into my VU Solo, so i will just get a cheap ethernet port switch..

ive got a nexbox a59x mate that does the job for me .

How do you control the cursor on yours ? Can you just use your laptop/connect to the box? Or do yu have to plug a usb mouse into it, which would be a pain if i had to do this often as the box would be situated in my self built A/V cabinet.

EDIT - Just need a wireless keyboard and mouse.

you can use the hand held controller which is ok but not the best really , so I'm going to buy a wireless mouse for it .

Right i have got the box, but fookin CLUELESS when it comes to KODI (whatever that is) and BUILDS !!!

What's my next step guys, do i need to start a new thread ?

If kodi already installed you can wipe the data in settings and start from scratch. I use ares wizard and normally use pulse builds, trying sky plus build atm

I thought KODI was the MUST have one these android box's and everthing was controlled through it ?

Also how do i type etc, can i just purchase any Wifi usb ketboard/mouse kit ?

Kodi just an app which you can add add ons to for sport and movies etc. If it's already installed just wipe the data and then open it up and install ares wizard, plenty of guides on Google.

As for keyboard I bought a rii i12 but I assume any wireless keyboard/mouse would work

First check that Kodi is 16,1 if it is then ya ok
If not go to ya browser on ya Android box go here>> Downloads | Kodi & download the 16,1 version click ARM to download Android version and install it
I say this cos lots come with older version installed

Cheers, still not plugged it in yet !!! I KNOW the f/w is 1.6.1, so will check Kodi when plugged in.

Why do i need to wipe the box AFTER installing Kodi 16.1 ?

Surely it will then be deleted ?

Is there a 'quick fix' to watch just to watch the boxing later guys ?

Mine lokks NOTHING like the pic above, i'm in KODI BUT can not see what version it is /, been in settings and system info ?

EDIT - KODI is 16.1, found it in main settings when trying to alter time and screen resolution ?

On the Android box go to settings then Apps then you will see which Kodi it is.
also you will find time and screen resolution settings in there
click on time and pick London UK time +1
On screen resolution click zoom in or out

No need to that as it will be gone just switch box off and on
