Firestick Running Hot

Could anyone check their firestick and tell me if it runs hot after moderate use? I have my firestick cut out a couple of times and I am wondering if the usb supply from the tv is not giving enough power to the stick and causing it to get hot and cut out.

do get hot advisable to use mains power but doesnt make a difference to heat

I think I'll have to put the mains in eventually but wanted to check with others that theirs run hot, I have put a usb on/off switch inbetween the tv usb out and the stick so I can turn if off at night as I don't like it waking up all the time.

Without the mains power some updates can fail if big.

My stick runs quite hot however it is plugged into the mains all the time. Should I run it from battery more?

What battery would that be then lol ?

As I said noob alert haha. Just found that out by unplugging it

I read somewhere it has a battery obviously not haha
