Hi guys, I've got plex on my phone, my now tv box picks up the phone, but I can't get my phone to find any videos I have stored on it? Do I need to put the videos in a specific place or something?
I'm on android with latest os

Can the android app act as a Plex server then? I use my PC as a plex server then I can stream from it to my phone and other devices, not sure the android app can act as a server itself. If it can then I'm guessing there must be an option within the app to tell plex where the media is stored, if that is also done then are the files named correctly?

sorry i use plex on nowtv using plexrar as i find it runs better than basic plex

ive got my laptop sorted now. However for some reason plex only sees certain video types, for instance i downloaded a series in xvid format, when i refresh my library it doesnt add it in, if i drag and drop the file starts downloading through chrome. Any ideas?

ive done some reading, and i renamed the files and they now appear, is there an app i can get to do this for me automatically?

I think if you add the unsupported AppStore to your plex server (google it, it's really easy to add) there are a few channels that can tell you what media hasn't been added to your library but to my knowledge, you might have to manually rename the files yourself :(

For films just name them normally so something like a.million.ways.to.die.in.the.west.2014.sparks would become a million ways to die in the west and a tv episode would become family guy s10e4. Otherwise plex won't recognise and add them.

I have got a HP Server running with Plex on it & was wondering if you know how to add the unofficial apps to that? The server is running FreeNAS

Thanks
Calisto

Hi mate, I've uploaded the unsupported appstore.bundle, you extract the folder from the zip and place it in the directory with your other .bundle packages (plugins basically) now on windows this will obviously be a different location to Freenas, but from what I can gather, it should go here: mv /mnt/YourFreeNASNameHere/UnSupportedAppstore.bundle /mnt/YourFreeNASNameHere/jails/plex_1/usr/pbi/plexmediaserver-amd64/plexdata/'Plex Media Server'/Plug-ins/
your location will read a little differently to that but that should be enough to get you there, I know nothing about freenas though, having never used it :)

Done this, constant buffering. Checked all settings. Going back to hard-wired.

Really want to try the unsupported appstore bundle. I am going to download it and try to put some decent channels on plex freenas setup. Anyone have any recommendations?
