rs232 cable

hi guys im still having a problem finding this cable ! I have a v8s openbox that needs the firmware re-installing, my big problem is finding the correct cable with software disc to use with my windows 8 laptop, ive been searching for over a week but nothing , evertime I find usb to rs232 cable its male not female or it has no software disc, I found 1 yesterday it was female usb and had the disc but just as I was about to buy it I noticed right at the bottom it stated no good with openbox arghhhhhhhhh, if anyone can send me a link to a cable that will work for me with software disc I would be very grateful !!! thanks in advance

Null modem is exactly that Null modem what you need to find is a USB to RS232 convertor that is compatible with your laptop operating sytem and the one i linked to is compatible

Null modem will work with any receiver that uses that interface not just the Openbox

is the usb to rs232 a plug and play so doesn't need the software cd ! that's the one im after ! I also have the female to female adaptor to go with this ! thanks for all your help

A null modem is not just female to female RS232 to reverses the wiring to the pins
