hi all
just got my self a skybox f5 and trying to connect it to a vrgin superhub via wifi
the wifi dongle sees the superhub 74% signal strength but wont let me connect just comes up
with timeout
i have tried changeing channels on hub and changeing wpa2psk (AES)
but still wont connect
i know the best way is to hrdwire but this is not a option
and dont want to shell out anymore money on powerline adapters ( had a set of these and they run really hot)
anyone on virgin running one of these boxes could let me know if they are compatable with the f5

thanks for any info

Have you tried turning off the WPA encryption first then let the box connect and then add the encryption after the box has made its connection

hi thanx for the quick reply i have just tried it
and on the skybox its picking it up and it says its open network
but still not connecting and comes up with time out

Try this:
1. in your network settings switch off dhcp
2.exit menus then reboot
3.turn on dhcp exit menus then reboot
4.if it still doesn't connect reboot your router

ok m8 will check that out
also i might want to add is that has a option i do have a sky wireless connecter
just looking around to see if this can connect to the virmin super hub and how i can do it

hi mahrkpat

have tried what you have surgested and still cant get it to connect

ok thanks for the help
decided to go out and by some powerline adapters and sorted it straight away
just need to sort channel listings out now
and get myself a c/line :Biggrin2:

Hi,

just saw this forum after having a similar problem with Virgin superhub, I tried a few things also and nothing seemed to work but then figured out the problem - a little bit embarrassing it was too! I accessed my superhub from my pc (with the 192.168.0.1 address in the internet address bar in my browser) and noticed that the passkey to connect to my hub is actually case sensitive - I was always putting this in in caps lock, as is the default setting for the skybox menu, when I switched to lower case and then typed in the password and hit connect....it connected first time!!! Working fine now and no more long wire snaking through my home - hope this is of help?!

hi thanks for your response
I did try that and it still didn't work for me
ended up going down the homeplug route and worked as soon as they were plugged
in and they have been since
but it might help some others looking for a solution the same problem
