firstly im on ntl using the superhub it is wired directly to the hub istill suffer the odd freeze i know its not the server as a lasd i know on bt on same server has no issues
i heard there is going to be a firmware update for the super hub is it out yet
would i suffer less if i used the openbox with a home plug instead of direct to the hub?
 
it must be your server because i have a super hub and dont have any problems i have set the ip to 192.168.0.8 no dhcp

yes, R36 is up and running for most of us now.

if you don't use WIFI try setting the hub to "modem only". if you use WIFI as well, I'd suggest getting a router. say the Rangemax 3500, and carry on using the hub, as a modem,. and use the new router for, errrr, routing.
 
i dont no about anyone eals but i had my wifi working nice on the superhub but now after the firmware update to r36 it is shit thay have had to use the homeplugs downstairs my vonets is about 2 feet away from the superhub and that crap were as i never had a problem with it befor so i hope its a lot beter for most of you lot

these two quotes show what is so perplexing, about the performance, of the super hub.

the performance seems so patchy.
many find it fine. but, perhaps, with not the best WIFI range.
but many more find it a constant problem. as a visit to vermins site, will reveal.

I found using the vermin "N" dongle, actually improved the performance, when using "N". (as opposed to the lappies own card.)
even so, the WIFI range/signal strength, was not a patch on the old vermn "G" router.

also, as advised by vermin, i tried swapping the channels. and 6,11 and 3 all gave the better connection.
dropping the max speed, from 300 to 145, also gave gains in performance.
but, as i have said, LAN has never had any problems.

personally, I'm unsure what the OP means by "freeze".
but, if that means having to reset the hub. it seems to be a sporadic problem. mostly caused by the network (vermin not home).
but, if your hub resets itself to "default", its a hub fault. however you need to leave it as you find it, call vermin. after a quick check, they send out a new hub.

yes.

click "advanced settings"

then click DHCP settings.
there you can assign any IP you like.

if you disable DHCP. you will need to assign static IP's to all devices you connect to the hub.

The DHCP Settings area allows you adjust how the Super Hub assigns IP addresses.
The Super Hub is configured to be a DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) server by default.
This provides the TCP/IP configuration for all connected devices.

LAN IP Address: Type the LAN IP Address that you would like to assign for your Hub. (default: 192.168.0.1).

Subnet Mask: The subnet mask specifies the network number portion of an IP address.
Unless you are implementing subnet, use 255.255.255.0 as the subnet mask.

DHCP Server: By default DHCP is enabled on the Super Hub.
This will assign IP addresses to connected devices on your LAN automatically.
Uncheck DHCP, to assign IP addresses manually, or have another DHCP server on your network assign IP addresses.

Important: If you disable DHCP, you will need to assign a connected device a static IP address in order to reconnect to the Super Hub and enable DHCP again.
