is it safe to use modmii to resoftmod a modded wii. ie ive got a 3.2e softmodded wii via the old zelda hack and i want to update it onto the 4.2 or 4.3 firmware. and ive done a couple of 4.0 and 4.2 wii`s via modmii and did like the red theme that comes with it.
so i was woundering if it would be safe to go from 3.2 upto 4.2 via modmi?

ive downloaded all the currect files via modmii and put them onto my sd card, the problem now is when i go data man/channels/sd card load boot.dol it starts to run then stops saying that hackmii installer that there is no usable or vulnerable ios instaaled on this wii.

can anyone help me please?

Did you select "virgin wii" at the beginning? From memory I think it says to select this if you your problem.

yea ive done all that and its still the same

above for pimp my wii and good piont if you have homebrew channel go to number 2 and contiune following guide that modmii gave you

2) MAKING A NAND BACKUP
====================

While inside the Homebrew Channel, load BootMii by pressing home and clicking Launch Bootmii.
Press the power button on the wii 3 times to get to the last option, then press the reset button. [You can also navigate with a Gamecube controller]

Press reset to choose the first option, then follow the directions on the screen to make your NAND backup. [Bad blocks are no problem.]

Backup the Bootmii folder, NAND.bin, and keys.bin elsewhere and erase from the sd card (or rename it). You'll need these in case of emergencies, so don't lose them.
Go back to The Homebrew Channel.

Note: if Bootmii was installed as boot2, then it will show up as soon as the Wii is turned on AS LONG AS it finds the bootmii folder (mentioned above) on the root of the SD card.

and then go to to number 3 etc

right then its now all sorted and modded on 4.1e with modmii. turned out that i was right darkcorp had altered some ios`s so i couldnt do a fresh install on it,so i run darkcorps uninstall programme which then put all the ios`s back to the old 3.2s and then run modmii.

and thanks doomedearl and slyboy for trying to help me, and i will have a look into this pimp my wii for future ref
