just got a mates wii that he wanted me to softmod for him. There are 2 tutorials that i was using to try and do this wii. as both of them were for 4.2e, and my mate already had a wiikey inside i used the safe wii updater to 4.2e rather than from nin10do. so i installed hombrew, dvdx, bootmi easily, but then i tried to unstall IOS files as mentioned on the tut. but kept getting errors, so i looked in the page which talked about the tut and one guy goes he had errors but ignored and carried i did the same and even installed CIOS rev17. some old games like mario sonic olympics works, but SSBB and NSMB and newer games don't work.

i used both: https://www.digitalworldz.co.uk/index.php?threads/227035/

please help me :(

Super Smash Bros Brawl needs to be burned on a duel layer disc. To get New Super Marios Bros working from disc you might need to patch it or grab a patched copy.

SSBB is the original wii game, and on my softmodded wii copied NSMB works perfectly...

i will try neogamma r8 beta 17 and let you know how it goes :)

thanks

went on google and downloaded neogamma r8 beta rev17and downloaded it from gbatemp, it runs off hombrew fine, i thought it was a channel but owell. got an message saying that you are using cios rev 17 and that i should use rev 13a or rev 14 to achieve best compatibility. The same problem happened with both games, SSBB had read error (1051) and NSMB had the green screen problem.

any ideas please

thanks

After reading your first post again m8. I think your problem is the errors you had un-installing the iso you need to do this bit again.

Try putting cios rev14 on. Before you do though if you have bootmii installed as boot2 then copy your origonal nand back up from your sd to your PC then make another back up of your nand. this way if installing rev14 doesn't work for you you can just revert to how you have it now by restoring the nand.

Try this guide mate. It's the only one that had any remote success for me, and your errors sound very similar to the ones I was getting...

It's also the only guide/files that allowed me to backup my NAND successfully.

EDIT - As said though, make sure you uninstall any previous attempts first. (I had to do this. I just used the enclosed files to remove the bits, restarted the Wii, then followed the guide to install again.)
