Hi All,

I've updated my Wii to 4.0E using the tutorial above and all is well.
Everything updated and installed smoothly.

Now I'd like to install a USB Loader, but I can't find a decent tutorial anywhere.

Has anyone installed a USB loader on their softmodded 4.0e wii that works perfectly?
I’ve heard of various loaders such as DXloader, USBloader1.0 etc…..but which one is the best…. :frown:

Please can someone guide me in the right direction for a decent tutorial or guide.

Cheers

Okay I've installed the USB Loader and the ios36 rev13.

I formatted and transferred my iso games to the hard drive using WBFS manager.

I managed to load a game without any issues, but on exiting back to the wii menu and then loading another game the screen remains blank causing me to power off the wii by removing the power cord (This happens everytime I want to load a different game).

On reboot the wii instantly boots from boot2 and loads wad manager 1.4, why would this happen and is there away round this and the blank screen on loading other games in the same session.

Please Help, I don’t want my wii to get bricked…

Theres a bug with rev13 which u have 2 turn off n on the wii to load another game from usb. Try rev14 it should of been fixed

Cheers.

Now I think I've bricked my wii.

Everytime I boot I get the corrupt message as referenced in the upgrade v4.0 tutorial.

Please can you help me.

reinstall preloader mate that should sort it. from madnlooneys sticky on using the updater to get to 4.0

If you want to load games from the disc channel you must install CIOSCORP
The following section applies to both Online and Offline installations.

NOTE: NO ASKING FOR LINKS TO CIOS WADS
This section has some risks and is OPTIONAL
if you follow instructions you will be fine.

1) Put WAD Manager 1.3 on your sd card

http://www.teknoconsolas.tv/wanin/WAD-Manager_v1.3.zip

2) Install the CIOSCORP WADs

can be found in Softmii or MiiWii packages

3) Install CIOS60BF.wad

google "CIOS60HK.zip"

4) Your system menu will now say "System Files Corrupt" but dont worry! just hold reset and launch the Homebrew Channel and install Preloader 0.29 AGAIN

5) Enable update blocker in preloader. Hold RESET and power on. Change preloader options and hacks

Thanks for all your help people.

I've got it working now and everything seems to be running sweet as a nut.

Got to admit...Preloader and Bootmii are the best programs since sliced bread.

Saved me from bricking my wii many a time this weekend.

Thanks again for all your help.

Hi there,

I like the idea of my Wii using a USB drive with my iso's (save f'ing around with dvds). Can I get it working with a D2Pro chipped Wii with out using softmods ??

You want something like this ?? ... Next Generation Wii Mod Chips. - Nintendo-Scene

Although Flatmii will not allow you to play backups of your games from disk, it will allow you to connect to a PC through USB 2.0 to load ISOs from a Windows XP/Vista application.
