hi downloaded animal crossing city folk scrubbed iso what is the diff in the scrubbed and a normal iso as it unrared to the normal size of a wii iso
 
why would u scrub it? oh theres a scrubbed one 460mb,

i brick blocked it using the one in the stickies, ntsc 1:1 works a treat :)

does anyone know which firmware is on AC?

is it that when you create a scrubbed ISO's it replaces the junk code developers put on to fill the disk up with 0's and 1's, which get a much higher compression rate in winrar than whatever it is that the game makers put on to fill the disk up.

So when you un-rar it would be 4 odd gigs.
 
thanks i take there is nothing much taken out then so there should bo no diff in the scrubbed iso image

a scrubbed iso is smaller so it downloads faster and takes up less bandwidth when it is unrared it becomes the right size.with nothing missing

no, they do it on DS carts aswell... Not sure why they fill empty space up, must have some purpose...
 
I always thought they cut out some of the videos and foreign languages from in-game to reduce the size like in SuperSmash Bros.

the reason they fill empty space up is for quicker access times cause if there is blank space it looks there for longer to make sure
