R4 Just says loading...

I bought an R4 about 5 months ago for my brother in law and got sent a suprcard by accident, so I phoned the company and they sent out and R4 which i kept for myself for getting a ds in the future, anyway got one for xmas but opened it already to test my R4 put all the files in micro sd and when I put in ds it just has a black screen and says Loading... and stays like this any help much appreciated, well pi$$ed off if it is broken as I aint used it yet, I have tried an other micro sd that I know works but with no joy. It is the R4 fist one with a space at the top. Thanx

Just been searching the net and found a few people have had the same kind of problems, one guy says the sd card is sdhc and that the old r4 doesnt support this type, so that would mean i need an older micro sd, mmmmmmm ?

Not sure about SDHC but this link & some info on dealextreme suggests there is a compatibility issue.

Some great suggestions in this thread if you want to try something, especially post #11 (Curly seems very good on R4's in here).

Just read your original post again, the 2nd micro SD card works elsewhere, so your problem must be the R4 or the files on it, try using Curly's upload.

well, i had the same problem as you so i know how to solve it.
First of all you will need to acsses your micro sd card's files.
Create a new file and keep all your games in it.
Then format the data.
Then accses your r4 disk and find a file called English/ French/ Chinese v.1.18
deppending on were your r4 came from at what ever version it is.
Then copy all the folders in it to your micro sd card.
Move all your games back into and voila!
