Luxul gives me problems all day long, but great support.

Ubiquiti just works, but it is complicated as hell and offers no support at all when needed. what a shame. what do you use?

I personally use Ubiquiti. Three of there access points cove my property well. The software is a pain, setup took me hours to get right, but it was the first time using Ubiquiti products.

After setup though they have been rock solid with no need for reboot or adjustment. I would highly suggest them if you are somewhat technically savvy.

Hi there,
I have found with luxul that it is way too slow,
Ubiquiti is still more complex but I find it easier to program and provides better reception, faster ping and is just the thing to do the job for extending internet to far places, it can extend up to 900m in length and is perfect for my setup!

Good luck!

I have been using Ubiquiti for the past 5 years ... and never needed to power cycle the AP's.
The last one I installed was an AP LR PRO with 2.4GHz and 5GHz - working flawless for the past 7 months.
Get over the initial config and you're done!

Ruckus would be my choice for access points. And the new unleashed makes setting up simple

Ubiquity hand down, their tech support has improved a lot, and the new mesh outdoor antennas were a nice addition to their line.

Luxul, engenius, cisco, gave me more gray hairs than need it,.

Just chiming in on an old topic, but Ubiquiti has gotten a lot better and added a controller device "Cloud Key" to simplify long-term setup. Previously, you had to keep up with the computer where you set up the software, and if something happened to it, you'd have to reset and re-adopt everything. Now you can set up a Cloud Key and sync it to a Unifi cloud account, which makes long-term management much better.

I've got no experience with Luxul, but I currently sell and install both Aerohive and Ubiquity AP:s. While Aerohive is more of a professional segment, I can honestly say that Ubiquity Unifi is very close to Aerohive. With it's cloud management it's easy to expand and maintain. I would recommend it for most small enterprises as well as for home use due to it's performance/price.
