This One came of the back of a scrap wagon !, i took a risk with it (and glad i did) as there was various parts missing ie Carbs/headlight/switch gear and obviously a none runner, additionally i did,nt know if it was stolen and would possibly be going back to its rightful owner.
First thing i purchased was a set of 400 carbs from a 98 automatic (lucky guess) and once id primed the carbs checked the oil and hooked up the jump leads she fired up second push of the button and purred like a kitten.
I then sent of for the paperwork which came back no problems, and since then ive added wide bars/a triple harley look headlight setup/switchgear and a homebrew TPS as the auto carbs are old school and dont have the end feed tongue required to drive one.
Ive searched for months for the side panels to no avail, as like the bike these are like hens teeth so im looking at modding a pair ive bought from a CB400 big 1.
To date ive spent approximately £600 on her £150 of that being on 2K !, shes not my cup of tea as i prefer sports bikes and ill probably sell her once complete, but i think you,d agree she,s a nice looker never the less .
There you have it a 1999 CB400v Retro UK bike which will shortly be on the market.
