Phone Unlocking Iphone 4 Unlock

[h=1]How can I unlock my AT&T iPhone 4 that was 3 months from the contract if I upgraded to an iPhone 5?[/h]

I am in good standing, still with AT&T, and paid $36 to upgrade to a new phone with proper eligibility and no fees paid for early-termination. How can I get AT&T to unlock my old phone?

Their email response to my unlock request states:

Thank you for contacting AT&T Customer Care about unlocking your iPhone.
We cannot complete your request because the service commitment for this iPhone has not been completed or no valid current/ former mobile number is associated with the request

Basiclly you should of had your provider unlock the device just before you upgraded your contract


however there are reliable 3rd party unlockers available
