Afternoon Guys,

Anyone able to help in unlocking this device?

I've Jailbroken it using Taig 2 in the hope that I might be able to use UltraSn0w to unlock it but then found that UltrsSn0w does not support the baseband of this device.

I came across the SAM method but that involves registering each SIM card one by one and the SIM I want to use in it is not currently in my possesion.

Anyone know of any other methods to unlock this device apart from contacting the network provider or paying someone to do it?

only way is to pay or thje original owner contacting provider as apple has to do it otherwise it stays locked to original provider
not sure what you mean by this though
it is not currently in my possesion.
if stolen you dont have a chance

He said the sim he wants' to use isn't currently in his possession, he would have struggled to jailbreak the iphone had it not been in his possession.:proud:

I don't think there is a way to unlock these days apart from contact the original owner so he can get in touch with the provider. The last ee iPhone I got unlocked only cost £10. If you can't get hold of the original owner and the phone ISNT stolen if you have been an ee customer for 3 months I have read they will unlock for you.

Thanks for all the replies and advice, found a trader on fleabay selling EE iphone unlocking codes for £17.99, any thoughts on how s/he might be doing it?

I'm guna try my luck with EE as I read that they should be able to unlock it for £8.99 as long as I am an existing customer, which I am. I'm not sure if they will unlock it for me as I have not been using my contract SIM in the device at all and I know they got some sort of pre-requisite of the phone must be used for x amount of time with an EE SIM before they can offer me this service, will give it a shot anyhows!
