Had a few PM's about this so here goes

i love the phone but it the 2nd nokia phone i have had in the n series which i have had to send away to have a software update and i still can't get the sat nav to work.

You don't have to send the phone away to update the software m8

Go to here and enter your product code to see if any updates are availiable (found underneath your battery ;)

Then just connect your phone to your PC with USB cable and let it update. Job done!

OR

If you want to remove the crappy VODA branding, or any other branding for that matter skip the above and download Nemesis Software Suite FIRST from here. (You'll fin it at the bottom of the page ;)

Then you connect it to your phone and click the SCAN FOR NEW DEVICE button.

Once it's found your device click on the PHONE INFO button where you will then find a box with product code written next to it. This is where you enter the ORIGIONAL NOKIA product code for your handset.

The N95's UK product codes for unbranded firmware are:

0534841 - For the Sand N95
0536062 - For the Plum N95

So depending on the colour of your hanset you would enter either 0534841 or 0536062 into the product code box then tick the ENABLE box next to that and finally click the WRITE button.

Now when you run the Nokia Software updater it checks your phones product code, see's that it is an origional Nokia (As you just changed it to one...lol) and updates your phone with the latest ORIGIONAL UNBRANDED Firmware that is a lot faster and stable than the network provided, horrible looking branded crap.

I must advise you though that all this is done at your own risk, and it may invalidate your phone's warranty.

But saying that, it is well worth it! ;)

:)

just in case you need to rebrand here is the orange code 0548170

If anyone should need to rebrand at any time you can find your origional product code on the label under your battery ;)

Keep in mind that re-branding this way is only possible if the service operator has an equal or higher firmware then the one on your handset as downgrades do not work this way.

:)

there is an aftermarket software for the cam, i know as i have got it, things like frames and pictures with the heads missing so you line your victims head up against it and take the picture, end result your mate looks like a monkey ect..

i,ll try to find the webpage i got it from. or google photorite as thats the name of it i just checked in my menu.

Ok I've spoken to him, he say's something about the phone is sent out as a 2.5 meg camera but you can make it 5 meg ?? Is there firmware out for this phone ? Or has anyone heard of this.

Tell him to start the camera up and then go into the options menu then settings.

He then wants to change the image quality setting from 'Print 2M - Medium' to 'Print 5M - Large'

Hope this helps.

:)

Hi all,

I followed the guide on how to unbrand and unbranded a O2 branded n95 without any problems however i'm having trouble doing a Orange N95, (0548170). I have entered the code for the unbranded plum version and then written using the software but when i read it again it still says it is 0548170 even though Nemisis software shows it has written to the phone.

Any ideas why this is ?

hi there
tried to debrand my n95 nothing has happend i still get the orange window when i load up.

any advise pls

Once you change to the generic product code, you will need to update the firmware before the branding dissapears.

If the branding is still there after f/w update, you need to check that the product code has taken...

i have done software update but i am not sure if the nss thing worked when i click write all i get is done

yo am a bit dumb but duin diz dus it unlok ya fne 2 uda networks anal or jus remove brandin:S
