I was thinking to myself that windows 7 was the best operating system Microsoft have made.

I don't mind 10 it has grown on me (my sons laptop), and Microsoft windows 8 was just a joke!, but I just can't move from windows 7!

Personally I can't see any commercial business using anything but 7.

What I am trying to say is, do you think they will stop producing software / updates like they have for XP?

And XP was a decent OS too.

Or is there some hidden Microsoft URL where we can find out the projected support time frame?

Microsoft doesn't plan to stop fixing security problems in Windows 7 until extended support ends. That's January 14, 2020--five years and a day from the end of mainstream support. If that doesn't put you at ease, consider this: XP's mainstream support ended in April, 2009.28 Aug 2014 this what i found

@Mick, you can get support info from M$ here:

I noticed that Win10 does have a end of support date which unless I was mistaken was advertised as a service for life!
