why when any of the above devices get pluged in the show up twice in explorer is there a way to turn this off.

go into autoplay and change defaults to "take no action"

that's if i'm understanding your question correctly...

I have wondered about this too TBH, but it doesn't bother me- if it's there twice my flaky old eyes are more likely to see it lol!
 
ahh, see what you mean now..

mines is the same, weird, why would they do that?
 
I think it is listed under Computer and then under Libraries or whatever it's called.

There is a way to remove it but it is a registry edit :).

Indexing and library scan. So if you plug in a USB with pictures. music, etc on for example, it gets added to the relevant library. I like it actually as I navigate by my library folders a lot (especially since you can make virtually any folder a library) and if i stick in a USB key with music on and hit the music library its all auto sorted with the correct headers like title , track no. etc
