Can you not try a system restore point backdated to last week?.

Emails are stored on the pop server not you pc. Just log back into your ntl mail and they should still be there

tried the restore Miggy, no joy, :(

Ianb its the saved emails i'm after in my sub folders, i have just short of 3000 on the server and not even sure if the saved ones are still there as i mass delete the inbox every so often !

Thanks for the advise anyway

Next time back them up daily. I think that the only way to recover them safety without costing you money.

Not quite.

If you access your emails by IMAP then yes the emails are stored on your server and will not be deleted if you delete the account on your pc.

But if you access your emails by POP then the emails are downloaded to your PC stored locally and deleted automatically from the server, if you delete your account in Outlook or Live mail eetc.. then the emails are deleted also.

In ether case the actual email account is not deleted unless you goto virgins website and login and delete your account that way. Merly deleting the account in live mail doe NOT delete the account only removes it locally.

Even POP leaves the e-mails on the server if the client is configured to do so. I'd reconfigure for IMAP to check before writing anything off.

Good point, well made. I forgot about this, but most people don't bother with messing with settings on email clients.

Personally I always use IMAP so that I can see my emails on various devices and also on any PC connected to the internet.

The best way to check is just to log into your account on virgins website, thats the easiest way to see what is left and what accounts are active.
