Microsoft defines complete as reaching the “Welcome” screen, so don’t think you can procrastinate till 11:59 and then start the upgrade – you’ll be in for quite the shock.

Might be worth ghosting your current system,
then upgrading and let it activate,
then you can just reinstall your ghost image and your mobo is registered for windows 10 when you eventually decide to upgrade,
you could even ghost your windows 10 upgrade install if you have the space

not bothered ghosting as still on Win 7 mainly saved my LTSB version for later if i feel the urge to switch to 10 lol

Wasn't aimed at you m8, it's an option for people that like to run a legit os but are not ready to switch and don't want to have to pay for it when they do switch
